Paul Carrack (born 22 April 1951 in Sheffield) is a British singer, songwriter and keyboardist whose voice appears on more hit records than most listeners realise. He first broke through as frontman of Ace with 'How Long' (1974), then sang 'Tempted' for Squeeze before achieving global recognition as co-lead vocalist of Mike + The Mechanics, most notably on 'The Living Years' (1988). Alongside a prolific solo career he has worked as a session musician for Roxy Music, Roger Waters and Eric Clapton, among others.
On 5 June 2026, the live album 'For One Night Only - Live in London' was released, recorded on 24 October 2024 at the Royal Albert Hall on the occasion of 50 years of 'How Long'.
Carrack toured the United Kingdom in April and May 2026, with shows in Gateshead, Sheffield, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff and London, among others.
In August 2025, Carrack released 'The Country Side of Paul Carrack: Volume 1' via his own label - recorded in Nashville and focused on country classics from the fifties to seventies.
'The Country Side of Paul Carrack - Vol 1' debuted at position 38 on the British album chart.
In August 2024, the greatest hits compilation 'How Long (Has This Been Going On)' was released, with which Carrack celebrated fifty years of 'How Long'.
