Radiohead, A Jazz Symphony - NNO & Noordpool Orkest
Two Dutch orchestras reimagine Radiohead's catalogue as a jazz-inflected symphonic work.
Noordpool Orkest is a Groningen-based ensemble of 42 professional musicians, founded in 2009 by composer, pianist and conductor Reinout Douma. Built around a big band core with added strings and woodwinds, the orchestra ranges freely across jazz, hip-hop, film music, drum 'n' bass and pop - anything but classical. It has shared stages with artists including Douwe Bob, Waylon and Thomas Azier, and performed at major festivals such as Pinkpop and North Sea Jazz.
On 25 September 2026, the Noordpool Orchestra will perform the jubilee concert in honour of the 100th anniversary of Stadspark in Groningen, together with guest artists Bert Visscher, TikTok Tammo, TAXITAXI and Inge van Calkar.
The Noordpool Orchestra performs the world premiere of Intouchables in Concert on 12 October 2026 at Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, with the film accompanied live by the orchestra under the direction of conductor Anthony Gabriele.
In December 2026, the Noordpool Orchestra together with the Noord Nederlands Orchestra will present the programme 'Radiohead, A Jazz Symphony' again on stage at De Oosterpoort in Groningen.
Home Alone in Concert, in which the Noordpool Orchestra accompanies the Christmas classic live, will be shown in December 2026 in Nijmegen, Brussels and Rotterdam Ahoy.
On 3 January 2027, the Noordpool Orchestra will launch a new tradition with the New Year's concert 'Future Is Now' at De Oosterpoort in Groningen, featuring compositions specially written for the occasion by young creators.
