About

The Noord Nederlands Orkest (NNO), founded in 1862, is the longest continuously active professional symphony orchestra in the Netherlands. Based at De Oosterpoort in Groningen, its ensemble of around 70 musicians from 18 nationalities gives more than a hundred concerts each season across the three northern provinces and beyond. Norwegian chief conductor Eivind Gullberg Jensen has led the orchestra since the 2022/23 season, with Kerem Hasan and Hartmut Haenchen as principal guest conductors. The NNO is known for bold programming that ranges from the symphonic canon to unexpected crossovers with pop, dance and contemporary music.
