Nile is an American technical death metal band from Greenville, South Carolina, formed in 1993 by guitarist and vocalist Karl Sanders. The band is known for pairing relentless speed and technical complexity with lyrics drawn from ancient Egyptian mythology and history, making them one of the genre's most influential acts. Albums such as In Their Darkened Shrines and Annihilation of the Wicked secured their place in the international metal scene, and their tenth studio album, The Underworld Awaits Us All, followed in 2024.
