About
Mike D, born Michael Diamond, is an American rapper and co-founder of the Beastie Boys, the New York hip-hop group whose 1986 debut 'Licensed to Ill' became one of the most influential records in the genre's history. After bandmate Adam 'MCA' Yauch died in 2012, Mike D stepped back from performing for over a decade. In 2026 he returned with his debut solo album 'Thank You', recorded with his sons and released on Capitol Records.
