Michael Varekamp

Michael Varekamp is a Dutch jazz trumpeter who has built an international career. He performed with Miles Davis alumnus Sonny Fortune and played venues such as Birdland and Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York, sharing stages with Scott Hamilton, David Murray and Branford Marsalis. In Japan he received the Kobe Award for exceptional talent. Much of his work pays tribute to the music and legacy of Miles Davis.
