Matt Maeson: Watch My Step
Virginia-born singer-songwriter Matt Maeson performs an intimate solo set of bluesy indie folk at Amsterdam's Melkweg.
Matt Maeson (Virginia Beach, 1993) is an American singer-songwriter who grew up in a travelling evangelical family and channels that restless upbringing into dark, confessional alternative folk-rock. His 2019 debut album Bank on the Funeral made history when both 'Cringe' and 'Hallucinogenics' - the latter remixed with Lana Del Rey - hit #1 on the US Alternative chart, making him the first male solo artist to score two Alternative #1s from a debut LP. His third studio album, A Quiet and Harmless Living, arrived in September 2025 on Atlantic Records, drawing on marriage, fatherhood and a move from Austin to Nashville.
Matt Maeson released his third studio album A Quiet and Harmless Living via Atlantic Records.
On the album, Maeson processes his marriage, fatherhood, and the move from Austin to Nashville.
Maeson shared the single 'Halfway to Whole' as a preview of the new album.
Maeson announced a tour of 42 dates, with 27 North American shows and 15 European and British performances in January and February 2026.
The European tour leg ended on February 20, 2026 in Cologne, following a performance in Amsterdam on February 19.
