Laura Veirs (born 1973, Portland, Oregon) is an American singer-songwriter whose folk and alternative-country records have earned her a devoted following over more than two decades. She broke through internationally with 'Year of Meteors' (2005) and 'Saltbreakers' (2007), and reached a wider audience through the supergroup project 'case/lang/veirs' (2016) with Neko Case and k.d. lang. Her fourteenth solo album, 'Temple Songs', was released in August 2026 - entirely written, recorded and produced by Veirs herself.
Laura Veirs released her fourteenth solo album 'Temple Songs' on August 14, 2026 via her own label Raven Marching Band Records.
'Temple Songs' is the most independent project in her career: Veirs wrote, arranged, produced and played all instruments herself in her garden studio 'Temple of Bloom' in Portland.
Veirs shared the lead single 'Flying Into Darkness', accompanied by a self-shot video recorded during her tour in France.
Laura Veirs was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in October 2024.
In 2025, 'Laura Veirs and the Choir Who Couldn't Say (Live in Angoulême)' was released, a collaboration with a French school choir that performed songs from her catalog.
