Kumar Sanu (born Kedarnath Bhattacharya, 20 October 1957, Kolkata) is an Indian playback singer who dominated Bollywood's romantic era of the 1990s. He holds the record of five consecutive Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer, for films including Aashiqui, Saajan and Baazigar. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 2009, and in 2022 he received the Banga Bibhushan, West Bengal's highest civilian award.
