Khalid (full name Khalid Donnel Robinson, born February 11, 1998, in Fort Stewart, Georgia) is an American singer-songwriter who grew up in El Paso, Texas. He broke through in 2016 with his debut single "Location", released just before his high school graduation, and followed it with the acclaimed debut album American Teen (2017). His soft-voiced, dreamy R&B-pop and candid lyrics about love and coming of age earned him a global audience - his catalog has surpassed 35 billion streams - along with seven Grammy nominations and a spot on Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2019.
