Keroncong Anemoia

About

Keroncong Anemoia is a duo formed by soprano and ukulelist Madeline Saputra (Jakarta, 2000) and pianist-violinist Apollon Kalamenios (Cyprus, 2003). Their programme weaves Indonesian keroncong songs together with 20th-century Western art songs, placing colonial history and personal memory in direct dialogue. Saputra graduated cum laude from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam; Kalamenios is also active as a composer, with works performed at festivals including Gaudeamus and Wonderfeel. At the 2025 International Vocal Competition in 's-Hertogenbosch they won the second prize and the press jury prize in the Theatre in Song category.
