Joris Luyendijk (born 1971) is a Dutch journalist, author and anthropologist who made his name as a Middle East correspondent for outlets including De Volkskrant, NRC Handelsblad and the NOS. His 2015 book 'Dit kan niet waar zijn' - an insider account of London's banking world - sold over 300,000 copies and won the NS Publieksprijs. His 2022 book 'De zeven vinkjes' sparked a national debate about privilege and power. In May 2026 he gave up his press card to work as a full-time activist in support of Ukraine.
