Johan Gielen (born 1968 in Mol, Belgium) is a DJ, producer and remixer who has been a fixture of the international trance scene for over three decades. Through projects such as Airscape and Svenson & Gielen he produced classics including 'L'Esperanza', 'Pacific Melody' and the gold-certified 'Twisted', and performed at Trance Energy 26 consecutive times - earning him the nickname 'Mr Trance Energy'. He reached #24 in the DJ Mag Top 100 and has been based in the Netherlands for many years, continuing to release music on Black Hole Recordings.
In an interview with Beatportal, Gielen announced the comeback of Svenson & Gielen, alongside new releases under his own name and as Airscape.
Gielen released multiple new singles in 2026 as Airscape, including 'Trance Society', 'Ready for the Jump' and 'All Of Me For All Of You'.
Gielen released the album 'Etherflow' via Black Hole Recordings, his first full studio album in years.
Airscape released new tracks monthly in 2025, including 'Million Miles' and 'Ecstatica', as part of a renewed creative chapter for the project.
