About

ILA is a Belgian indie rock band from Genk, built around Turkish-Belgian singer-songwriter Ilayda Cicek (born 1997), with Sam Smeets on bass, Cas Kinnaer on drums and - since late 2024 - guitarist Mattias Stynen. The band won Studio Brussel's De Nieuwe Lichting in 2022 and broke through with 'Leave Me Dry', which spent three weeks at number one in De Afrekening. After the acclaimed debut album Ayna (2024, PIAS), their second album Motherland - recorded in London with producer Mikko Gordon (Idles, The Smile, Arcade Fire) - is due in October 2026.
