Hayden Thorpe
Hayden Thorpe, former frontman of Wild Beasts, performs solo at MEZZ. He brings the beloved British indie band's repertoire in its rawest form - voice and instrument only - alongside material from his solo career.
Hayden Thorpe (born 1986 in Kendal, Cumbria) is a British singer-songwriter best known as the frontman and chief songwriter of indie band Wild Beasts, with whom he released five critically acclaimed albums on Domino Records between 2002 and 2018. His operatic countertenor voice and literary sensibility defined the band's sound. As a solo artist he has continued on Domino with three albums - 'Diviner' (2019), 'Moondust for My Diamond' (2021) and 'Ness' (2024), the last a collaboration with nature writer Robert Macfarlane.
Thorpe performed at the End of the Road Festival 2026 with a full set of Wild Beasts songs - for the first time since the band split nearly ten years ago.
Thorpe announced a series of British solo performances where he plays exclusively Wild Beasts songs, for the first time in nine years.
Thorpe developed the sound installation WETLANDS, which was displayed at Walthamstow Wetlands in London.
Thorpe released the new single 'He', taken from his album 'Ness'.
His third solo album 'Ness' was released via Domino Records, inspired by the place of the same name on the Suffolk coast and created in collaboration with writer Robert Macfarlane.
