About

Gruppo Sportivo are a Dutch new wave pop band from The Hague, founded in 1976 by singer-guitarist Hans Vandenburg, who broke through nationally and internationally in the late 1970s and early 1980s with witty, English-language songs full of humor and irony. Known for energetic, slapstick-tinged live shows and hits like 'Beep Beep Love', 'Hey Girl' and 'Disco Really Made It', the band reunited in 2018 after a long hiatus and is now marking its 50th anniversary in 2026 with a farewell tour of Dutch pop venues.
