Flying Horseman is the Antwerp band of guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Bert Dockx, who founded the project in 2008 and has remained its creative core ever since. The group works at the intersection of art rock, psychedelia and cosmic folk, with dark lyrics and a layered sound that also draws on post-punk and blues. Alongside Flying Horseman, Dockx is active in Dans Dans and Ottla, and won the biennial KU Leuven Culture Prize in 2015-2016. Their seventh album 'Anaesthesia' appeared on Unday Records in September 2025, after a five-year hiatus and with a renewed lineup.
The seventh album 'Anaesthesia' was released on 12 September 2025 via Unday Records, recorded by Joris Caluwaerts (STUFF.) and mixed by Yves De Mey.
Flying Horseman announced the new album with the first single 'Engines', released on 28 March 2025.
The band's lineup was renewed: drummer Louis Evrard and bassist Maximilian Dobbertin replaced Alfredo Bravo and Mattias Cré respectively.
The second single 'Anaesthesia' was released as a title track that deals with melancholy, isolation and the danger of blind obedience.
Flying Horseman performed at the Gent Jazz Festival on 15 July 2025, as the start of the tour around 'Anaesthesia'.
