About

Fischer-Z are a British new wave and rock band founded in 1976 by singer, guitarist and poet John Watts at Brunel University. Their debut album 'Word Salad' (1979) and the single 'The Worker' launched them to prominence, and they built their most loyal following across mainland Europe - particularly in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Watts, who worked as a clinical psychologist before turning to music, is known for lyrically dense songs with a sharp political and social edge; he has now released over 23 albums and played more than 4,000 concerts.
