EIGEN WERK IN UITVOERING with The Covenant
The Covenant, a veteran live band since 1988, plays original rock with theatrical and narrative elements at Rockcafé Taste. An evening full of energy and history.
Erol Erdogan is the bassist of Amsterdam DIY rock band The Covenant, active since 1988 and the self-releasers of nine albums. He joined in 2023 following the death of founding bassist Peter Stap in 2021, and plays on the band's ninth album *The Age of Rage* (2025). Shaped by the low end of Thin Lizzy and the playing style of James Jamerson, he built his first bass himself at age twelve.
Festivalinfo published a review of *The Age of Rage* and confirmed that The Covenant continued after the death of Peter Stap with Erol Erdogan as new bassist.
Written in Music reviewed *The Age of Rage* positively and mentioned the short tracklist as a strength of the album.
*The Age of Rage*, the ninth album by The Covenant with Erol Erdogan on bass, was released on 21 March 2025 via Dutch & Dregs.
Music blog Here Comes the Flood discussed the album and pointed out that Erol Erdogan handles the bass line, while Peter Stap can still be heard on 'Loophole' and 'Bones'.
