About

Epica is a Dutch symphonic metal band founded in 2002 by guitarist Mark Jansen following his departure from After Forever. The group pairs heavy guitar work with orchestral arrangements and the operatic vocals of frontwoman Simone Simons, a combination that has made them one of the genre's most internationally recognised acts. After landmark records such as The Phantom Agony, Consign to Oblivion and Omega, the band released their ninth studio album Aspiral on Nuclear Blast in April 2025.
