Daraa Tribes
Daraa Tribes brings the music and stories of their people from Daraa, Morocco. The five band members blend Gnawa, Sahrawi, Amazigh and other traditions into a unique eclectic sound.
Daraa Tribes is a Moroccan five-piece from Tagounite, an oasis town in the Draa River Valley. Formed in 2014, the band's five members each come from a different local tribe, weaving together traditions including Gnawa, Amazigh, Sahrawi, Reggada and Ikaaba into what they call 'the blues of the desert'. They sing in Tamazight, Hassaniya and Darija, layering electric guitar over ancestral percussion in a sound rooted in the North African Sahara.
Daraa Tribes is on the poster of the Shambala Festival 2026, following a praised performance at the same edition in 2025.
On 25 August 2026, the band performs in London, at the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden, together with Simo Lagnawi.
In January 2026, the band played in Brighton (The Rose Hill) and earlier in Bristol (The Jam Jar).
