EIGEN WERK IN UITVOERING with The Covenant
The Covenant, a veteran live band since 1988, plays original rock with theatrical and narrative elements at Rockcafé Taste. An evening full of energy and history.
Daniël Jansen is the drummer of The Covenant, a DIY rock band from Amsterdam active since 1988. Alongside singer Frank van der Reep, guitarist Hans Koomans and bassist Erol Erdogan, the band has built a loyal following in the Dutch rock circuit, with past support slots for Pearl Jam, New Model Army and Shane McGowan & The Bad Seeds. Their ninth album, *The Age of Rage*, came out in March 2025 - partly a tribute to founding bassist Peter Stap, who died in 2021.
*The Age of Rage*, the ninth album by The Covenant, was released on March 21, 2025 via Dutch & Dregs in a limited edition of 777 numbered copies, packaged in a photo frame with artwork in Amsterdam School style.
Written in Music published a glowing review of *The Age of Rage* and described The Covenant's music as 'stadium rock for small venues'.
The Covenant is currently on the album tour for *The Age of Rage*; the band describes it on its own website as 'its ninth album tour'.
Founder and bassist Peter Stap died in 2021, which brought the band into an uncertain period; ultimately The Covenant decided to continue with Erol Erdogan as the new bassist.
