Bucovina Club Soundsystem is the live outfit of Frankfurt-based DJ and producer Shantel (Stefan Hantel, born 1968), blending Balkan brass, klezmer, polka and electronic dance music on stage. Hantel has Greek roots on his father's side and Ukrainian-Jewish grandparents from Chernivtsi - the historical Bukovina region that gave his project its name. His Bucovina Club compilation series (2003, 2005) and the international hit 'Disko Partizani' brought Eastern European dance music to mainstream European audiences, and his Bucovina Club nights won the Club Global Award at the 2006 BBC Radio 3 Awards for World Music.
Shantel & Bucovina Club Soundsystem performs on 25 November 2025 at SO36 in Berlin as part of the Partizani Super Sonic Live Tour.
The Partizani Super Sonic Tour runs through to January 2026, with a show on 24 January at the Muffathalle in Munich.
A new show is scheduled for December 2026 at SO36 Berlin, again under the name Partizani Super Sonic Live Tour.
