BT, full name Brian Wayne Transeau, is an American producer, DJ and composer who has been a central figure in electronic music since the 1990s. He is credited as a pioneer of trance and IDM, holds patents for his stutter edit technique, and has scored films including *The Fast and the Furious* and *Monster*. His 1997 album *ESCM* is widely regarded as a genre classic, and he has produced and remixed for artists ranging from Madonna to David Bowie.
BT composed the original soundtrack for the action-adventure game *Mafia: The Old Country*, released on August 8, 2025 via Laced Records.
BT and his wife Lacy Transeau announced new plug-ins for SoundLabs' MicDrop platform, including brass models and a vocal package aimed at melodic techno.
