Boris (ボリス) is a Japanese experimental rock trio from Tokyo, formed in 1992, consisting of drummer Atsuo, guitarist/bassist Takeshi, and guitarist/keyboardist Wata. Named after a Melvins song, the band has released more than thirty studio albums across labels including Relapse Records, Sacred Bones, and their own Fangs Anal Satan imprint. Spanning sludge, drone, noise, shoegaze, and ambient, their catalogue is one of the most restlessly varied in contemporary experimental rock.
