About

Bert Dockx (Antwerp, 1980) is a Belgian guitarist, singer and composer who trained at the Jazz Studio and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He is the driving force behind Flying Horseman - a band he founded in 2008 - and also plays in Dans Dans and Ottla. His music moves between art rock, psychedelia and folk, with a dark, layered sound and personal lyrics. Dockx won the KU Leuven Culture Prize 2015-2016 and has composed music for several theatre companies.

    Flying Horseman released their seventh album Anaesthesia on 12 September 2025 via Unday Records, after five years of absence and with a renewed lineup.

  • 2025-07

    Flying Horseman played an exclusive pre-release show on 15 July 2025 at Gent Jazz, the only festival performance before the album release.

  • 2025-10/11

    Flying Horseman went on the Anaesthesia Release Tour through Belgium in October and November 2025, concluding with a show at Gebouw-T in Bergen op Zoom (Netherlands).

  • 2025-03

    Flying Horseman announced the new album with the single 'Engines'; at the same time it was announced that bassist Mattias Cré and drummer Alfredo Bravo have left the band.

  • 2026

    Flying Horseman is scheduled again in 2026 for concerts in various venues.
