About
Avatar is a Swedish heavy metal band from Mölndal (near Gothenburg), formed in 2001. The five-piece - vocalist Johannes Eckerström, guitarists Jonas Jarlsby and Tim Öhrström, bassist Henrik Sandelin, and drummer John Alfredsson - blends melodic death metal and groove metal with a distinctly theatrical live concept. Ten studio albums in, they have toured as support for both Iron Maiden and Metallica, cementing their place on the international metal circuit.
