About the venue

The Werelderfgoedcentrum Waddenzee (WEC) in Lauwersoog is the visitor centre for the Wadden Sea, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2009. Exhibitions explain how this tidal landscape works and why it matters for migratory birds, harbour seals and countless other species. The centre sits right at the harbour from which ferries depart to the Wadden Islands.
