About the venue

The Waterloopbos near Marknesse is a former outdoor laboratory where large-scale hydraulic engineering models were tested from the 1950s until the 1990s. Concrete remnants of those models - scaled-down dikes, sluices and riverbeds - now lie half-swallowed by the forest, giving the site a strikingly otherworldly feel. Today it functions as a recreational nature area and draws artists and event organizers alike.
