The Open-air Theater Valkenburg is carved directly into the marl cliffs on the edge of the Limburg town of Valkenburg aan de Geul. The natural rock face forms a dramatic backdrop, and the theater can hold thousands of visitors. Each summer it hosts large-scale musicals, concerts and other open-air events.
