About the venue

Museum Helmantel in Westeremden is dedicated to the work of Groningen-born realist painter Henk Helmantel (1945), whose still lifes and church interiors draw on the tradition of the Dutch Masters. The museum is housed in a historic farmhouse where Helmantel himself lives and works, giving the collection an unusually personal feel.
