Batavialand in Lelystad is a museum focused on Dutch maritime history, built around a full-scale replica of the VOC ship Batavia. Visitors can step on board and follow the story of how the original vessel was constructed in the 17th century. The museum also displays artefacts recovered from shipwrecks and traces the history of Dutch overseas trade.
