About the venue

Huygens' Hofwijck in Voorburg is the 17th-century country house of scientist and inventor Christiaan Huygens and his father Constantijn Huygens. Constantijn designed the estate himself, drawing on ideas from Jacob van Campen, and it sits alongside the Vliet canal. Today it operates as a museum dedicated to the life and work of the Huygens family, and also hosts lectures and cultural events.
