Stoomlab
Interactive workshop where visitors experiment with steam and mechanics at the Cruquius Museum.
Het Cruquius Museum is housed in a nineteenth-century steam pumping station on the edge of the former Haarlemmermeer lake. Built in 1849, it was at the time the largest steam-powered pumping station in the world and played a central role in draining the polder. The original beam engine is still in place and tells the story of Dutch water management on an impressive scale.
