The Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem holds the world's largest collection of paintings by Frans Hals, including his celebrated group portraits of civic guards. The collection spans the Dutch Golden Age as well as modern and contemporary art, spread across two sites: the historic almshouse on Groot Heiligland and the Hal on the Grote Markt.
