Marit Shalem & Dirk Bruinsma plus Teller & Sutherland
An evening of two multimedia projects at WORM Rotterdam.
Jørgen Teller & David Sutherland have been working since 28 September in the WORM Sound Studio on new synth- and strings-based works for their first duo concert and release. They also present a special audio session based on a vinyl record of "A Day in Algonquin Park" - sounds that existed 50 years ago and 6000 km from Rotterdam. The collaboration between Teller and Sutherland has its roots in two co-writing sessions in Toronto with Static Teller & NYAWB, in 2022 and 2025. As a trio - with Paul Stillwell - there is one release on Bandcamp; the next, recorded in the summer of 2025, will be released at the end of 2026.

Cymph - Marit Shalem - SpOp - & Dirk Bruinsma
Cymph is the new audiovisual project of duo SpOp & Bruinsma. The title refers to the film genre 'City-Symphonies', in which a day in the life of a specific city is portrayed. As a variation on this, Shalem and Bruinsma present a live collage from different cities, focusing on working-class neighbourhoods and repetitive, functional architecture. Image and sound recordings are combined live into a kaleidoscopic whole.
The performance lasts 30 to 40 minutes and combines an improvised composition with text fragments, in-between spaces, skies, reflections, transparencies, light and decay - and the human as inhabitant within and between.
