Ak'chamel (US, Akuphone)

The Texan trio Ak'chamel has been performing for years in handmade costumes and masks, known as one of the most striking live acts from the underground. Their shows combine hallucinatory rituals with a sound that weaves together psychedelia, post-apocalyptic shamanism and lo-fi ritual folk - inseparably linked to the physical theatre they bring to the stage.

Self-described "fourth world post-colonial cultural cannibalists", they build their own complete world. They have played festivals such as Roadburn and Le Guess Who?, and their work has been discussed by Vice, The Wire, Tiny Mix Tapes and Consequence of Sound.
