Duo Rozemond & Bekkers (violin/voice & accordion)
Violinist Joris van Rijn presents Jacobien Rozemond (violin, voice) and Renée Bekkers (accordion) around the release of their new CD, featuring early music, tango, new compositions and poetry.
With this combination of old and new music and poems, Rozemond and Bekkers explore the simplicity and transience of bliss. Benjamin de Murashkin wrote for the duo "I'm nobody, who are you?" on texts by poet Emily Dickinson. The programme also includes Baroque music by Castello, van Eyck and Merula (together with violinist Joris van Rijn), serene works by Ernest Bloch and Albert van Veenendaal, and tangos by Piazzolla and Matthias Kadar, who composed a modern tango especially for the duo.
Repertoire: Castello, Merula, van Eyck, Desprez, Murashkin/Emily Dickinson, Bloch, Albert van Veenendaal, Matthias Kadar, Piazzolla.
Ensemble: Jacobien Rozemond (violin & voice), Renée Bekkers (accordion), Joris van Rijn (violin).
