Martyn Joseph [UK]
Martyn Joseph is a folk and singer-songwriter from Cardiff, Wales, who has built an impressive international live reputation over forty years. With 27 studio albums, half a million records sold, and thousands of performances, he ranks among the greats of the folk world. His most recent album is This Is What I Want To Say; for the BBC series 21st Century Folk, he wrote the song Alberts Place as part of a BBC project.
Performing solo on stage, without frills or tricks, he captivates both small venues and large festivals with a raw, passionate performance. His songs - comparisons to Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer and Billy Bragg are not uncommon - come straight from the heart and are delivered pure and unadorned. Last year he was one of the highlights of the Ramblin Roots Festival.
