Description was written before the event

How do voice and vulva relate to each other?

The research performance VV seeks to reclaim, open, and connect the spaces between them: from the internal compass of the vulva to the external, geological position of existence. The performance is inspired by Audre Lorde's The Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power and is a sister project of Shaking shame.

Concept and performance are by Melyn Chow, with Estela Canal Parejo as performer. Lighting design is by Paulina Prokop, final direction by Floor van Leeuwen.

VV was originally developed and performed in 2022 within Welcome to Our Guesthouse, a program of Productiehuis Theater Rotterdam, at that time by Melyn Chow and Jing Hong Okorn-Kuo.
