Heerenhuyskamerconcert - Las Hienas

Las Hienas is an all-female Latin band that gets audiences dancing and laughing. The group plays music from South America: Afro-Cuban sounds, modern salsa, Andean music and traditional Caribbean rhythms, blended with pop and jazz influences.

The band was formed in early 2023 as a countermovement in a male-dominated music scene and debuted on International Women's Day 2023 with a concert featuring exclusively female composers. What started as an activist project grew into a distinctive Latin band with soulful vocals and a groovy rhythm section. At the Heerenhuys, Las Hienas performs as a five-piece, this time joined by a male bassist.

Since its founding in 2023 in Rotterdam, the band has played at festivals across the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Iceland, including Días Latinos, North Sea Jazz Festival, Karneval der Kulturen, Riviera Latina Festival and Cultural Nights Reykjavík. In March 2026, their debut EP "Nuestro mundo" (Our world) was released.

Line-up: Inês Miranda Kosters (vocals), Anoushka Elisa Marien Garcia (keyboards), Carmen Martínez Navarro (percussion), Hugrún Elfa Sigurdardóttir (flute, trombone) and Mauricio Mendez (bass).

The Heerenhuyskamerconcert takes place at the Heerenhuys, Dudok in het Park, Rotterdam, and is part of the Park's programming, which includes workshops, walks and poetry.
