Frank Cools and Florian de Schepper - BÉCAUD (premiere)

2026 marks 25 years since French chanson legend Gilbert Bécaud died; in 2027 he would have turned 100. Reason enough to celebrate his songs: Nathalie, Et maintenant, L'important c'est la rose, C'est en septembre, Je reviens te chercher. Bécaud, nicknamed 'Monsieur 100.000 Volts', sang them with boundless energy. His passion for women, cigarettes and whisky was legendary.

Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan and Marlene Dietrich all sang Bécaud. Now Frank Cools and Florian de Schepper do too - in the purest form: voice and guitar alone. Like their theatre concert AZNAVOUR, BÉCAUD is an evening full of beauty, recognition and surprise. This is the premiere.

Frank Cools is a Flemish actor and singer who has performed in nearly every theatre in Flanders and the Netherlands - from chanson to smartlap, from youth productions to solo work with classical texts. Florian De Schepper is a classical guitarist who describes himself as a chameleon: a travelling troubadour equally at home in folk as in other styles.
