A Special Evening with Marike Jager

On Saturday, September 26, Marike Jager presents a release evening at Kantine Walhalla for her new EP The Girl Who Turned into a Bed. She shares the stories behind the songs, her inspiration from filmmaker Tim Burton's world, and the handmade wooden music box on which many tracks were created. She then performs the new songs live, complemented by favourites from her earlier albums. After the show, she signs fresh copies of the EP, available on vinyl and CD.

Marike Jager has been nominated for an Edison four times, won the Grote Prijs van Nederland, and was embraced by Lowlands festival. Grammy winner Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Sheryl Crow, Crowded House) mixed her albums; she played guitar in a Sam Smith video. She previously collaborated with hip-hop dancer Shailesh Bahoran for 'Nederlandse Dansdagen', formed the experimental duo 'M ft. M' with drummer Martijn Bosman, and wrote a duet with Canadian songwriter Ron Sexsmith.

This evening she performs solo, with guitar and music box.
