Black Sheep Don't Lie — Theater de Generator, Leiden

Black Sheep Don't Lie is an evening showing of short live work created during an intensive one-day workshop led by performance artist Larysa Bauge. The evening is part of Theater de Generator's Stop Femicide programme and explores themes of visibility, shame, power, refusal, and the body.

The showing is not a polished final presentation, but a glimpse of work in progress. The performances may be quiet, physical, symbolic, direct, absurd, political or intimate - some makers work with movement, text, sound or personal objects, others with presence alone. Each participant decides what remains hidden and what becomes visible.

Larysa Bauge is a Belarusian performance artist, artistic researcher and educator based in The Hague. Trained in classical music and orchestral conducting, she works through performance with body, image, object and social conditioning - investigating how lived experience, power, identity, migration and institutional behaviour become visible through the body.

Performances in English.
