Workshop Performance Art

Black Sheep Don't Lie is a performance-art workshop led by Larysa Bauge, where personal experiences become the starting point for a short piece of live work. A memory, conflict, family history, object, feeling or personal question is transformed into a performance act. No prior performance experience is needed - only curiosity, a body and material you want to work with. The workshop is part of De Generator's Stop Femicide programme.

Throughout the day, participants choose personal material and work with it through movement, objects, repetition, sound, text, space and attention. You can use your own language and personal objects. Work can be direct or symbolic, silent or absurd, physical or restrained. You don't need to explain your story - you decide what remains hidden and what becomes visible. The workshop creates space to work with visibility, shame, refusal, pressure and the body. Not as therapy, not as confession, but as performance: a way to give form to what is usually swallowed, softened or left unsaid.

What to bring
Bring material that carries weight for you, even if you don't yet know exactly why. Think of clothing, underwear, shoes or accessories, toys, personal objects or found objects, photos, letters, notes, texts or language fragments, music, sounds or voice recordings - in short, anything connected to memory, family, identity, shame, desire, fear, anger, tenderness, pressure or refusal. How directly or indirectly you use the material is up to you.

Evening performance
The day concludes with an informal evening performance. Participants can share short performance sketches or images developed during the workshop. It is not a polished final presentation, but a moment where the work can be witnessed.
