Chris Verlaan

Chris Verlaan became known for his programmes 'Man in de Maak' and 'De Kringloper'. In his new show, he reflects on his mother's words: "Well, no children will come of it." It is his life wisdom - but secretly he has other plans.

Chris happily wrestles with an uncertain, single existence, and would like to pass something of himself on to the next generation. Difficult, when even looking at a woman is already a challenge. Loneliness is not a great drama for him, but a faithful co-pilot in his head - it feeds his fantasies, his fears and his longing for connection. While the world rushes past him, he wonders: when do you really belong? And what if no one sees how hard you are actually trying?

With his dry, cynical style and plenty of self-mockery, he shares the life lessons he learned himself. His autistic perspective on everyday life yields recognizable and surprising anecdotes.
