Riza Tisserand

Do you follow the rules, or throw them overboard and risk a hard fall? A bookkeeper and a cabaret performer give very different answers to that question - especially when that cabaret performer is named Riza.

Riza Tisserand pays little attention to the rulebook. He stumbles, gets back up, and draws a new life lesson or joke from it. At the same time, that rulebook plays a starring role: in it he notes his absurdist thought spirals, which grow into jokes and theatre texts - also for well-known names in cabaret and on television. Sometimes he simply reads from it. That works too.

'According to the Rulebook' is his show about the daily choice: do I do it the way it should be done, or do I do it the way only I can? Lots of laughs, with a touch of philosophy.

Tisserand is a cabaret performer, writer and radio producer. He contributed to TV programmes such as Padoem Patsss, Raymanns Suikerfeest and Comedy Explosion, and wrote for among others Javier Guzman, Guido Weijers and Soundos el Ahmadi. In 2018/2019 he toured the Netherlands with his first solo programme 'Bekeerling'. As a DJ he worked for FunX, Radio 1 and Radio 2 Soul & Jazz.
