Information Evening: Gevangentoren Parking Facility

The municipality of Wageningen is building a temporary, demountable parking facility with supervised bicycle storage on the current parking lot at the Gevangentoren. Parking spaces from the city centre will be relocated here - no additional parking capacity is being added. The structure will stand for a maximum of fifteen years and will be reused elsewhere afterwards.

The Gevangentoren is within walking distance of the centre and already serves a parking function, so no new construction is needed in the city streets themselves. The freed-up space in the inner streets is intended for greenery, terraces, and gathering places.

On Wednesday 30 September, the municipality is holding an information evening about this plan. The location and main layout are fixed; the municipality welcomes discussion with residents, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders about the design and integration into the surrounding area.
