Willy Haroun's Jazz Night

Swiss-Spanish pianist Willy Haroun brings his new project BASES to Utrecht. In this programme, he blurs the boundaries between classical music, jazz and improvisation through original compositions, personal arrangements and Latin American influences. BASES premiered on 30 August 2024 as the opening concert of the 2024/2025 season in the Mozart Hall of the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Liederhalle in Stuttgart, and since then Haroun has been touring it throughout Europe.

Following classical and jazz training at some of Switzerland's most prestigious universities, Haroun developed a solo project that brings these two worlds together. His approach begins with a thorough study of the original works and their musical language, from which he arrives at a strongly personal interpretation. His repertoire ranges from classical and jazz to contemporary and popular music, supplemented with original compositions and improvisations.
