Threads — Splendor, Amsterdam

Harpist and composer Remy van Kesteren brings together his classical background, international solo career, and the electronic music that led him into the pop world in one performance.

"After ten years going my own way, I no longer want to choose between the worlds I know - I want to bring them together. THREADS is my attempt to go deeper and take the audience with me." The harp is the connecting element: the instrument on which Remy is recognized as one of the world's most innovative talents. On stage, he works with loops, electronics, and his virtuosity on the instrument. Light and visual artist Jurjen Alkema provides the audiovisual component.

Remy van Kesteren (born 1989) is internationally recognized as one of the most innovative harpists of his generation. The New York Times called him a "brilliant harpist". His work moves between pop, electronics, alternative music, classical and avant-garde - from his debut album Tomorrow Eyes (2016) to the collaborative project Leave What You Know (2025). As a creator, he draws inspiration from Glenn Gould and Jimi Hendrix: artists who reinvented their instruments and spoke their own language through them.
